By 2025, the company will open or expand seven service centres in strategic locations worldwide. The new facilities will be located in Accra, Ghana; Surabaja, Indonesia; and Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, FLSmidth’s operations in Mackay, Australia, will relocate to a larger facility. Expansions are also planned for Parauapebas, Brazil; Karaganda, Kazakhstan; and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. These new locations will begin operations within the coming months, with official opening details to be announced later. Furthermore, an expansion of the service centre in Chloorkop, South Africa, is underway and will be completed in 2026.
Christian Fabry, FLSmidth’s head of professional services, emphasised the strategic importance of these service centres. “Our service centres serve primarily as workshops for improving or repairing customer equipment and can also have warehousing capabilities for distribution,” Fabry stated. “With these new openings and expansions, we further strengthen our service capabilities and best-in-class service offerings to customers.” The strategic proximity of these centres to mine sites will significantly reduce operational downtime for customers, thanks to the greater availability of spare and wear parts.
