Continental Unveils Cutting-Edge Mining Tech at MINEXCHANGE 2025

Continuental is set to make waves at MINEXCHANGE, the SME Annual Conference and Expo, held in Denver, Colorado from February 23-26, 2025. The company is poised to showcase a suite of high-end technology solutions tailored for the extraction of mineral resources, challenging the status quo in the mining industry. Continental’s premium mining solutions, encompassing conveying, monitoring, fluid and specialty mining hoses, suspension, and power transmission, are expected to draw significant attention.

At Booth #817, attendees will get a firsthand look at Continental’s latest advancements in rubber technology for the mining industry. The company will spotlight several key solutions, including pulley lagging, steel cord belts, comprehensive conveying solutions services, and the enhanced Conti+ 2.0 app-based service platform.

Continental’s pulley lagging solutions, now available at their new facility in West Virginia, offer a range of on-demand splice kits and repair materials. The facility, an Elastotec Approved Installer, boasts a recently installed autoclave, providing both hot vulcanised lagging and cold bonding options. As a distributor of Elastotec lagging in North America, Continental holds sole rights to proprietary finishing equipment and the authority to certify installers. This move underscores Continental’s commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality solutions that enhance mining operations.

The company will also display a sample of its conveyor belts, including the Phoenix Phoenocord® ST10000 belt, renowned as the world’s strongest belt rating. These steel-reinforced conveyor belts are engineered for the harshest applications, delivering extreme durability and reliable performance with high-capacity and high-breaking strength. This makes them ideal for both above and below ground use, setting a new standard for conveyor belt technology in the mining sector.

In addition to these innovative products, Continental will highlight its comprehensive conveying solutions services, which include installation, maintenance, repair, splicing, and various components, all provided from a single source. This integrated approach simplifies the procurement process and ensures seamless support for mining operations.

Continental has also enhanced its app-based service platform, Conti+, making it simpler, faster, and more comprehensive. This technology provides advanced options to manage conveyor systems, increasing efficiency and profitability across all components and processes. By streamlining operations and offering real-time insights, Conti+ 2.0 is set to revolutionize how mining companies manage their conveyor systems.

The company will also showcase a variety of other products supporting the mining industry, including fluid hoses, specialty mining hoses, suspensions, and power transmission belts. These offerings demonstrate Continental’s commitment to providing a wide range of solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the mining sector.

Visitors to the booth will have the opportunity to engage with Continental’s team of experts, experience live demonstrations, and explore how the company’s solutions can elevate mining operations to new heights. “Continental is proud to showcase our industry-leading products and cutting-edge technology at MINEXCHANGE in Denver,” said Sven Hlywiak, Vice President, Customer Engineered Solutions, Industrial Solutions Americas at Continental. “Operating in the most challenging environments demands world-class solutions. Continental’s approach to be the single source provider of a comprehensive conveying solutions portfolio, which now includes pulley lagging and an autoclave in the US, is at the forefront of transforming mining operations for owners and operators alike.”

Hlywiak further emphasized Continental’s global expansion, stating, “With the expansion of our Ponta Grossa plant in Brazil, we are setting new benchmarks in the production of the world’s most durable belts. Our goal is to double or even triple production in the coming years. By manufacturing heavy-duty steel cord conveyor belts locally, we can significantly reduce shipping times and better serve our customers.”

This news is poised to shape the development in the sector by challenging existing norms and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in mining operations. As Continental continues to innovate and expand its offerings, the mining industry can expect to see significant advancements in efficiency, durability, and overall performance.
